Gentle / Restorative Yoga

This class is a theraputic style of yoga that promotes deep relaxation for the body through supportive poses. Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing and revitalizing practice that encourages rest, and resets the body, mind, and spirit.

PREREQUISITE NOTES: the ability to lay on the floor on a mat is required.

Prenatal Yoga

This class provides safe and beneficial yoga postures for the "mom" to be. We will begin the class with circle time, allowing for discussion on how you are feeling in the present moment. We will focus on asanas for shoulders and back to assist in releasing tension. Opening hips in preparation for the birth process, as well as focusing on pranayama and meditation to aid in labor and delivery. This class can help facilitate the labor and birthing process therefore will offer gentle challenges for the mom to be.

Chair Yoga Rx to assist in ADL's

This 60 minute Chair Yoga class can help you move past your present limitations, and help restore activities of daily living. You will focus on relieving and reducing stress with gentle stretching, breathing techniques (pranayama), and guided meditation.The chair allows for greater stability to help you feel supported and safe.

Yoga Rx for a Balanced Body

This 60 minute class is rooted in self awareness & is designed to bring you deep into your body as you explore your internal support system. You will learn to move safely & intelligently throughout your yoga practice, gently opening the joints of the body through conscious movement techniques. We will address the most commonly overused, stuck & restricted parts of the body, working toward a pain-free existence through the balance of strength & flexibility. This class is perfect for anyone looking to increase their body awareness and enjoy optimal physical performance. Come & experience a vibrant and alive body! All levels welcome.

Yin Yoga with Thai Assists

Yin yoga postures are held for longer periods of time to release connective tissue and muscles. Thai yoga sessions are designed to bring about a state of balance in the body by helping release stagnated energy. Through assisted yoga poses, the therapist uses stretching and gentle twisting techniques including acupressure and shaitsu massage.

In this 75 minute class, individuals are empowered to progress toward improved health and well-being through the philosophy and practice of yoga. Yoga Therapy is preventive in nature, but is is also restorative, and in many instances it can be curative.
